Community Passover Seder

In the spring of 2017, we had our first community Seder in many years. Our beloved member and dear friend Sally Green had been encouraging us to host a community Seder. After recently uncovering a picture of Rabbi Kastle together with young boys and girls at a Reyim community Seder from 1952, it felt like the time was finally right!

On the second night of Passover, we held two Seders at Reyim led by Rabbi Berman. The early Seder was designed for families with young children. We had a delicious meal prepared by many members of our community. Our kids listened to the Passover story, sang the Four Questions, and danced with tambourines through the parting of the Sea of Reeds, with their parents swaying with paper streamers of different shades of blue. Each family received a beautiful new hagaddah called "Ayekah." It was a wonderful evening!

Our late Seder was an inter-generational Seder for adults, teens and older kids, with over 115 Reyim members celebrating Pesach together. Combining all the traditional Seder elements together with learning, conversation, reflection, and games, we had a wonderful evening, including a delicious dinner and lots of singing.

We look forward to many more community Seders together.
